Capabilities
IAS is an established provider of professional and technical support services to our valued clients. Some of the work in our portfolio includes:
The majority of our current portfolio of support is in the area of shipbuilding program management and logistics – currently concentrating in U.S. Navy Aircraft Carrier new construction and lifecycle support. Aircraft carriers are the centerpiece of our national military strategy and the means of the most powerful force projection capability and deterrence in history. The Department of War recognizes the essentiality of our nation’s military and merchant shipbuilding and maintenance capability and capacity and is in the process of restoring the depth and breadth of both U.S. and allied ship construction and maintenance.
IAS is passionate about this effort and has focused its recent efforts toward contributing to the restoral of our military maritime program of record to its previous level. The Administration recognizes that we must restore our naval wartime capability to fight and win against our peer adversaries, as well as exercising maritime supremacy in an asymmetric warfighting environment. There is much work to be done. Not only have we as a nation failed to “pace the threat”, but we have allowed our shipbuilding and maintenance capacity to dwindle to dangerous levels. There is much work ahead to recover to the point where we can not only build and modernize but also repair combat damage to our fleet as well as increase production to compensate for battle-related losses.
To that end, in recognition of this imperative, IAS offers the following capabilities to our existing clients and seeks new opportunities to participate in our maritime warfighting and logistics recovery. Some areas where we are supporting are listed below:
- Program management to ensure the architecture of our GERALD R FORD and NIMITZ class aircraft carriers accommodates the many generations of Carrier Air Wings that it will host over their fifty-year (plus) lifespans.
- Financial Management and Contracting Support to get the taxpayers what they deserve in terms of cost, schedule and risk management.
- Strategic Communications to assist our government clients in managing expectations and laying out programmatic issues to Congress and the media.
- Shipbuilding Supply Chain Management to include Government-Furnished Equipment (GFE) and Information (GFI). This area of concentration is vital to the success of aircraft carrier construction as these components must arrive on time and on budget. Any work stoppage can cost millions of dollars per day.
- Executive Administrative Support to our Flag level and Senior Executive Service customers to increase their abilities to be “force multipliers” to their organizations.
- Manpower and Maintenance Analysis in terms of high intensity, shorter duration efforts to provide decision makers with the best options going forward in terms of investment in military and civilian maintenance labor optimization. IAS seeks especially to involve itself in any effort to determine how to recover shipyard capacity that has been sold off or privatized for purposes that do not
Our past includes several important items of note:
High quality PPBE and executive administrative support to the staff of the Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV). IAS was the largest, small business provider of on-site support to the OPNAV staff, with the largest, single award since the transition from systems command support to omnibus contracts administered by the Fleet Logistics Center, Norfolk, VA.
